Your first appointment – step by step

No two appointments are identical, but the broad sequence is usually the same:

  1. Book an appointment. Online through our patient portal with a live calendar, via the appointment request form, or simply by phone on +49 431 57667. All the options are on our Appointment & Contact page.
  2. Fill in the medical history form beforehand. After booking, you can complete your medical history form online from home. It's optional, but it saves you time at the appointment itself – no clipboard in the waiting room. (The form is currently available in German only.)
  3. Arriving at the practice. Please allow a few minutes before your appointment to present your health insurance card at reception and clear up any last questions.
  4. Initial examination. We look at your teeth, your gums, and an X-ray if needed, and listen to what brings you to us – whether that's a routine check-up, a specific complaint, or simply wanting a new dental home.
  5. Advice and next steps. We explain what we see and discuss the next steps with you – with no time pressure, and with no obligation to start treatment straight away if you'd rather think it over.

How to find us

Our practice is at Holtenauer Straße 68 and is accessible at ground level.

By car

Directly behind the building is the Schlemmermarkt Freund car park – parking there is free with a purchase of 5 € or more. Parking is also available along Holtenauer Straße and at the Parkhaus Holtenauer car park.

By bus & train

The Schauenburgerstraße stop is directly opposite and is served by lines 11, 60s, 62, 501/502 and 900/901.

The practice is accessible at ground level. Please let us know if we can make any special arrangements for your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to fill in the online medical history form?
No, it's optional. Filling it in beforehand saves you time at the appointment, because your details on pre-existing conditions and medication are already on file. Alternatively you can simply complete the form on site. Please note the form is currently available in German only.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No. In Germany, dentists can be seen directly without a referral – you can book an appointment with us at any time.
Can I come as a patient with statutory insurance?
Yes, simply bring your health insurance card. We bill treatment directly with your statutory health insurer; any additional services are discussed transparently with you beforehand. You can find more on how cover works on our Costs & Insurance Cover page.
I'm afraid of the dentist – is that a problem?
No, quite the opposite: just tell us when booking or at the start of your appointment. We take a particularly gentle approach with anxious patients and also offer treatment under sedation on request.
Can I bring my child along and register them too?
Yes, very gladly. Please bring your child's health insurance card and, if you have one, their bonus booklet (Bonusheft).
I've just moved to Germany. What do I need?
You'll need your health insurance card (Gesundheitskarte) from your German statutory or private insurer. If you're insured elsewhere in the EU and staying temporarily, your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) covers medically necessary treatment – see our Costs & Insurance Cover page for what that does and doesn't include. If you have records or X-rays from a previous dentist, bringing them can save a repeat examination.
